Notice of patent acquisition for “ONLINE FACE®”: automatic matching against identity documents and prevention of personal-data leakage when registering identity-verification photos online
Akamedia Japan Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Mairu Kikuchi) is pleased to announce that it has obtained a patent related to preventing unauthorized or impersonated applications and preventing the leakage of personal information when registering identity-verification photos online, within our next-generation e-learning system “ONLINE FACE®.”
With this patented technology, even online, the system automatically matches the submitted photo against an official identification document to ensure that a photo of the actual person is always registered. (*Compatible with driver’s licenses, My Number cards, passports, residence cards, and other forms of ID.)
It determines whether the name, date of birth, and photo on the uploaded ID match the trainee information provided at the time of application.
Once the match is successfully verified, the uploaded ID is automatically deleted, so operators are not required to retain any personal information.
This ensures that the trainee’s own photo is registered while also being effective against information leaks, since no personal information is retained.
