Introducing ONLINE FACE®
Course: Hazardous Materials Handler (Class B, Type 4) Online Preparatory Course
The course combines video materials (48 lessons) focused on frequently tested areas such as laws and regulations, physics and chemistry, and the properties of hazardous materials, together with practice questions, so participants can study efficiently at their own pace. The course period is 50 days; materials are included in the fee and shipped after application.
Background
Preparatory courses had mainly been held face-to-face, with an instructor teaching at a single venue, but demand for an online format grew year by year, partly because securing instructors and venues is difficult in some regions.
The spread of COVID-19 further accelerated this demand as face-to-face courses decreased. The Association therefore decided to move online so that candidates can study efficiently for the examination using PCs and smartphones.
Results
The viewing period, including material shipping, is set at 60 days, allowing repeated study for better retention.
In post-course surveys, roughly 90% of participants answered "satisfied," confirming the effectiveness of the online course.
Outlook
The Association will continue to raise course quality using the latest technology and to support the development of hazardous-materials handlers, contributing to a safe and secure society.
