Introducing ONLINE FACE®
Course: Site-Entry Safety Training
At the refinery, entry passes are issued on condition that entrants complete safety training and pass a test, so that they can work safely.
This course is the basic safety education taken before entering the site.
Background
During large periodic turnarounds (TA), the number of entrants multiplies, exposing many issues: incomplete paperwork, crowded reception desks, extra work to schedule and deliver training, and the effort of issuing entry cards.
Worker waiting time and the particular challenges of large venues (such as gymnasiums) were also significant.
Face-to-face courses required slot adjustments, and paper-based application procedures placed a heavy burden on applying companies as well.
To solve these issues, we redesigned the entry-application workflow, selected an online safety-training service, and adopted ONLINE FACE.
Results
・Reviewing the entry-application workflow optimized existing operations and integrated reception with the training process; ties to entry management were strengthened, and paperless, data-driven operation was achieved.
・During the TA period, 93% of participants took the course online, reducing the number of in-person sessions and eliminating ad-hoc ones.
・Online training can be taken anywhere, anytime, allowing flexible site entry aligned with work schedules.
・No more course-slot adjustments — avoiding the construction-scheduling issues once caused by date and capacity limits.
・Patented AI-based online identity verification and anti-fraud measures maintain security levels.
・Training quality equals that of face-to-face sessions.
・Partner companies’ productivity and convenience also improved, with no advance site visits required — a major benefit for participants from far away.
